Amateur Night At The Web 2.0
Though the post has a negative connotation throughout, I’m actually very happy about it because it shows that Amateurs are alive and well. Let’s take back the web! We won’t have it any other way!

Its true. It really doesn’t take much to start up a site these days. With so many open source tools readily and freely available, all one has to do to say start a search engine is get a server implement the tools, and start coding. Thats exactly what I did with Seekum a social search engine that allows users to vote up and down results. Real innovation never tends to come from big companies. Google’s biggest innovation came when the company had two employees. Though they still are creating many great products, I would be surprised to see an innovation as astounding as pagerank was in its day. Look to the ever growing new web companies, and amateuers to see any real innovation.
This dangerous liberty - weblogging - is something I am beginning and I am doing it in fun but also for something else. If visitors are honest and passionate and ready for the free exchange of ideas then if I am fortunate these are those who will occasionally visit my weblog and comment.
Weblogs have become the conscience and fact-checker for the MSM and the editorial page of the great unwashed. Isn’t it great?
