    Frank Barnako “Starts” A Blog??

Written on April 5th, 2006 by Vince Chan ::

I’ve been a fan and always enjoyed reading Frank Barnako’s column and newsletters on CBS Marketwatch and he launched his own blog at Barnako.com Here are his CBS Marketwatch column announcement and his “new” blog! Is this another case of old media getting into the new media?

Far be it for me to try and sound like an expert. I’m not going to say whether Frank gets it or not. But I have two things to say:

    1. Good luck on the new typepad blog, Frank!
    2. In my opinion, you’ve been a blogger and blogging since 1998!

      Vince:

Thanks. You get it. I hope I do.

When I started Internet Daily, I took my cue from Saturday Night Live, which often posited some of its bits were not ready for prime time.

Internet Daily would find the news that wasn’t ready for prime time; not the big stories but, in the scheme of the Net’s development, stories I thought spoke to its energy, promise, and imagination. So, I didn’t do big announcements or “real news.”

I blogged. Scoped out others media’s stories that I thought deserved more notice. Became more of an editor, a “human aggregator.”

We’ll publish Barnako.com throughout the day, and then take some of its highlights for the MarketWatch “Internet Daily” column.

      Thanks for the kind words.

      Frank

      Thanks for dropping by, Frank!

Sometimes I feel the new media bloggers are too into themselves and don’t see the forest from the trees. Many people have always been doing activies synonymous to blogging. Just because they haven’t come out and said they were a blogger doesn’t mean it were anything less.

I’ll continue to read your newsletters to see what you think are “the highlights”, but now I’ll also have a syndicated RSS feed to push all content to me! =D

BTW, Thanks for the post on your blog about this post!

P.S. Did your newspaper clients had anything to say about your latest development?
